Description: Probably THE most sung song on American Idol. I swear, almost every season has it stuck on like a piece of dog poo on shoe. It stinks. I HATE this song. But, I will not let such a biased opinion affect (effect?) my critique on one of the strongest contestants in AI History: Katharine McPhee. I'm a total Katharine fan; I follow all the headlines, read all the stories, YouTube her interviews, buy the albums, watch her come out of her house as she throws out the garbage... *ahem* It's a rare instance when I believe the contestant is TOO good for a song. Example: Elliot Yamin singing 'Heaven' or 'I Don't Want To Be.' But Katharine was meant for better; this song was just SO beneath her, it was a little embarassing. It felt like she had to hold back to fit into it. And of course, pervy Ryan Seacrest had to add the little 'wardrobe malfunction' tidbit in his pre-performance chit-chat. (Proving folks, that it did happen, and that there were people who complained). And while this performance wasn't as 'awe-inspiring' as previous ones, Simon had to stab her twice with his unimportant malice. 'You weren't great. Did I say you were great? Cause you weren't.'
