Description:

This is probably the most impressive available guncam footage available of a cannon armed JU87. Although NOT stated in the footage the Stukas mounting these guncams were part of a experimental combat unit named " Panzerjagdkommando Weiss" (Tank hunting commando Weiss) which had Ulrich Rudel assigned to it as commander. They were taken in February 1943 at the Black Sea in Russia, during the battle of the Kuban Bridgehead. The Stukas are D-3 models NOT G-2 models mounting two large caliber BK (Bordkanone) 3.7cm AT guns. Famous for their tank killing capabilities their first REAL use was against Soviet shipping and landing craft in Feb. 43. Rudel alone destroying over 70 of these vehicles in this month. Guncam footage is from this unit. Cannon armed Stukas (then designated G-1) were only send to regular squadrons in October 43. The footage itself is most impressive. The sensible fuzes of the high-explosive 3.7 shells (used during these attacks) get triggered just by hitting the water resulting in HUGE fountains of water..1-2 hits were enough to blow up a landing craft...anyway..see for yourself .. turn speakers up and enjoy.

"(Reply) (Spam) that footage is awesome, although it is most likely entirely target practice as none of the water targets are moving. not a wake or ripple in sight." you can see ripples you dumbass

Everyone who knocks the Stuka obviously was never in a boat or in some ground vehicle. The A-10 is the "Stuka" of the USAF. Like the Stuka, the A-10 is deployed where there is little threat from superior aircraft.

oh i do mean the stukas...stukas were phased out of Battle of Britain shortly I believe a month or two after. However they were I think still used as night bombers...in any case daylight bombing raids with these stukas proved very costly for Germans against their campaign with the British.

yea but stukas were the worst off. The best bomber the germans or the axis had in my opinion is the ju-88 which had thick armor and massive defensive capabilities, and would rank it second to b-17 fortresses. they phased them out against the british shortly after a while due to heavy losses.

That is what I call firepower. The Ju-87s were obsolete in 1944 due to its slow speed. This 37mm gun has 6 rounds for each gun. It can probably knock out a Sherman, a T-34, or any allied tank if you hit it from the top.

True, but then again Stukas weren't built to fight against fighters themselves. But as some sort of method to frighten the enemy psychologically which worked well in the Spanish Civil war in particular. All bombers and/or fighter-bombers were vulnerable to fighters. Hence the role of the fighters was to take out bombers.
