Description: The famous whistling theme used in KILL BILL VOL 1 was taken from this 1968 horror/thriller, TWISTED NERVE. Here actor Hywel Bennett pretends to whistle it as he walks down the road. Not an exciting scene, but it must have impressed Tarantino somehow. Perhaps it's because the music was written by Alfred Hitchcock's favourite composer Bernard Herrmann. Titlebaum ::: Favorites This film was panned at the time for being rubbish. In alot of ways it is. Some of the acting is dreadful and the plot is awful. The whistling gimick was inspired for the time but this is just a case of the Boulting Brothers trying to emulate Hitchcock. nessiediamond ::: Favorites Hywel Bennett and Hayley Mills worked well together. If you like them in this film, watch "The Family Way".(1966). This is an excellent film (my favourite) and also stars supreme actors/actresses such as John Mills, Marjorie Rhodes, Avril Angers, Murray Head and Barry Foster. It's a Boulting Brothers classic, sensitively highlighting a newly wed couple who fail to consumate their marriage.
