TWISTED NERVE whistling scene before KILL BILL

Duration: 01:11 minutes Upload Time: 07-05-23 15:34:47 User: Dildano :::: Favorites
Description: The famous whistling theme used in KILL BILL VOL 1 was taken from this 1968 horror/thriller, TWISTED NERVE. Here actor Hywel Bennett pretends to whistle it as he walks down the road. Not an exciting scene, but it must have impressed Tarantino somehow. Perhaps it's because the music was written by Alfred Hitchcock's favourite composer Bernard Herrmann. BTW the actress he's following in the clip is actress Hayley Mills. For more info... http://blackholereviews.blogspot.com/2007/05/twisted-nerve-1968-tormented-psycho.html#links

Logan5v ::: Favorites I think this was 1969, long before my time. But my comment was about the passing of time. I'm out of my teens now and I can't believe it. I recognise Bennett thru re-runs of 'shelley'. 07-07-12 21:30:22 _____________________________________________________
Spampoems ::: Favorites The only thing I remember him from is 'Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy' 07-07-15 05:34:32 _____________________________________________________
Titlebaum ::: Favorites This film was panned at the time for being rubbish. In alot of ways it is. Some of the acting is dreadful and the plot is awful. The whistling gimick was inspired for the time but this is just a case of the Boulting Brothers trying to emulate Hitchcock. Bennett was always a gifted actor but this was just beneath him. 07-07-16 17:24:12 _____________________________________________________
a8twenty ::: Favorites this is so catchy, and easy to whistle too! lol 07-07-21 12:36:45 _____________________________________________________

stephensullivan1 ::: Favorites Excellent film just bought it i love it. In 68 Hayley Mills was so beautiful shes gorgeous in the film. Classic film! 07-08-09 09:00:03 _____________________________________________________
143AC ::: Favorites This was not the only film that Mr.bennett did with Ms.Mills. They also performed in"The Family Jewels" as husband and wife. 07-08-12 21:22:12 _____________________________________________________

nessiediamond ::: Favorites Hywel Bennett and Hayley Mills worked well together. If you like them in this film, watch "The Family Way".(1966). This is an excellent film (my favourite) and also stars supreme actors/actresses such as John Mills, Marjorie Rhodes, Avril Angers, Murray Head and Barry Foster. It's a Boulting Brothers classic, sensitively highlighting a newly wed couple who fail to consumate their marriage. Thanks for posting Twisted Nerve. 07-08-15 17:25:15 _____________________________________________________
